It’s Back! Day of the Dog 2026 with Doggy Noses & Yoga Poses: Sunday, August 23, 2026
Want to spend your Sunday supporting rescue dogs while enjoying yoga, community, and plenty of puppy cuddles?
Join Doggy Noses & Yoga Poses on Sunday, August 23, 2026, for Day of the Dog, our annual nationwide celebration honoring rescue dogs and the incredible organizations working every day to give them a second chance.
Whether you're a lifelong dog lover, an experienced yogi, or simply looking for a meaningful way to spend your weekend, Day of the Dog is an unforgettable experience that helps save lives one downward dog at a time.
What is Day of the Dog?
Many rescue dogs don't have a known birthday. Because of this, shelters and rescues often celebrate “Dogust” as the unofficial birthday month for shelter pets.
Day of the Dog was created by Doggy Noses & Yoga Poses as a way to celebrate these deserving dogs while raising awareness and critical funds for the rescue organizations that care for them. Every event is designed to bring communities together through movement, compassion, and connection.
What to Expect
Each Day of the Dog event is designed to be fun, welcoming, and accessible for everyone.
Your experience may include:
A 45-minute all-level yoga class
Snuggasana: our signature puppy cuddle session with adoptable dogs
Opportunities to meet local rescue organizations
Pints (for guest 21+) and social time after class (where available)
Plenty of adorable photo opportunities
Most importantly, every registration directly supports local animal rescues and shelters in your community.
More Than Puppy Yoga
At Doggy Noses & Yoga Poses, we believe yoga is about connection; not just with ourselves, but with our communities.
Since launching in Belmar, New Jersey in 2017, DNYP has partnered exclusively with animal shelters and rescue organizations, helping raise more than $350,000 to support rescue efforts across the country.
Every event helps provide resources for organizations caring for homeless, neglected, and abandoned animals while creating opportunities for adoptable dogs to meet potential forever families.
When you attend Day of the Dog, you're doing far more than taking a yoga class. You become part of a movement that's changing lives for both people and pets.
Where Will Day of the Dog Be Held?
Day of the Dog will take place on Sunday, August 23, 2026, with events happening in communities across the United States.
