How we got down, dog.

Doggy Noses and Yoga Poses started as a one-time community service event and turned into a company by popular demand!

Debra Furstenberg, founder of DNYP, was helping her daughter figure out a community service project benefitting a local rescue, Husky House. Her daughter wanted to wanted to do more than solicit monetary donations and insisted she work hands-on with the rescue; however, at 15 she was too young to be a volunteer.

Inspiration struck when Debra heard a story on the radio about goat yoga and she asked her daughter what she thought about doing a yoga class with adoptable puppies roaming freely on the class floor. It was a crazy idea... crazy good!

It took nine months to coordinate that first class and on August 26, 2017 a sold-out event was held at Beach Haus Brewery in Belmar, NJ resulting in a donation of nearly $1, 000 to Husky House. With the party-like atmosphere after the class in the brewery’s tasting room, several participants asked when the next class would be- from there, DNYP bloomed into a business and became Debra's calling.

Today, Doggy Noses & Yoga Poses is known as a socially-conscious fundraising organization that raises money and awareness for animal rescue groups by coordinating unique and incredibly fun yoga events with local businesses and studios.

The Team with a Dream:

Our DNYP team goes above and beyond during every event to provide a safe, fun and interactive experience for yogis and the rescues!

The DNYP promise is giving back while helping these dogs find their forever homes. These are living creatures with no voice and these volunteers go above and beyond; if we can help by donating funds, giving the dogs love and possibly a home all within a yoga class… I mean, that for me is just priceless.
